FAQ

what if we have bad weather?

If it’s raining, we’ll reschedule. Unless you want to get creative and bring some umbrellas? I often pencil in a backup rain date at the time of booking, especially in spring. If it’s cloudy, that’s fine! Less chance of squinting and sweating.

Are pets allowed?

Absolutely, as long as the location allows (there are some metro parks that are pet-free). It’s best to have a plan for when we’re taking photos without your pet - maybe someone to pick them up halfway through the session.

what do we wear?

I always suggest “coordinated, but not matching” if that makes any sense to you. Generally speaking, I would suggest layering neutrals with 1-2 accent colors. Feel free to send me your ideas if you aren’t sure, or view the galleries for examples.

are files included?

Yes! With the exception of headshot and brand sessions, all portrait/family/newborn sessions include a gallery with download capability and print rights to the full collection. For headshots and brand sessions, we’ll work out a plan ahead of time.

where/when are sessions?

For outdoor sessions, the ideal time 1-2 hrs before sunset. Since that doesn’t work for everyone, so I often shoot early-mid morning and late afternoon as well. Indoor sessions are typically mid-day, or whenever your home gets the best natural light.

For location, half hour sessions are typically limited to a few areas I shoot at frequently (we’ll go over that at booking), and full hour sessions can take place anywhere you choose. Travel fees may apply for anywhere outside of central Ohio.
